Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant is responsible for general accounting functions involved in monthly preparation of financial statements, analysis and reporting.  It also includes oversight of the treasury management and cash management processes.  This position requires someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented and works well both independently and in a team.
 
Key Responsibilities include the following.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Corporate Credit Card Process.  This includes managing, analyzing and reporting on the credit card purchasing in the company.  Issuing and cancellation of cards, determination of credit limits and training of employees.
  • Responsible for the Treasury management and forecasting.  This includes preparing, analyzing, monitoring and reporting on cash projections, disbursements and collections.  Managing wire transfers, creating vendor templates in the banking portal.
  • Assisting with the Month end and Yearend statement preparation.  This includes the analysis of income and balance sheet accounts, preparing appropriate journal entries and calculation of accruals.
  • Responsible for the Capital Asset process.  This includes ensuring appropriate approvals are in place, tracking asset costs against approved budget and capitalization of the asset with appropriate depreciation.    
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a Finance department.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a university in Accounting of Finance
  • Newly designated CPA or working towards a designation would be considered an asset
  • Strong analytical and computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Highly driven and positive team player
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP system would be an asset.
