Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, the Accounting Coordinator plays an important role within the inventory & manufacturing functions, acting as a liaison between Operations, Quality and Finance. It supports the other accounting functions in SAP and is responsible for maintaining system integrity between production records as it relates to inventory control and to work. This position also supports Accounts Receivable and general finance tasks. This position requires someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented and works well both independently and in a team.
Key Responsibilities include the following.
Production Processes for the Manufacturing Facility
  • Perform Dartmouth Production Consumption Reporting for the Manufacturing facility.
  • Review materials, labor and purchasing transactions. Compare planned results to actual and analyze variances.
  • Review and investigate all materials in the manufacturing warehouses where lots do not reconcile within tolerance.
Inventory Control Functions
  • Perform inventory transactions in both Great Plains and SAP to support both the manufacturing facility, and our distribution centers in Ontario and British Columbia.
  • Enter all Inventory Receiving’s that physically get Received by Supply Chain into Great Plains, and match invoices for entry for Accounts Payable
  • Collaborate with QA/Operations and process disposal notifications for materials that are damaged, expired, discontinued, or have quality issues.  Create dispositions to remove inventory from GP.
  • Audit Cycle Count Results and Inventory Controls on a regular basis.
  • Attend bi-weekly operational meetings to stay connected to inventory issues and production.
General Accounting Functions
  • Enter all customer credit notes into the AR module of SAP.  Ensure that the credit notes are allocated appropriately between the different brands to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with Sales Reps to discuss Advertising Issues.
  • Support the Accounting Coordinator (AR) in the releasing of customer orders on a timely basis.  Download credit card payments & lockbox daily into SAP to ensure bank balances reconcile.
  • Responsible for tracking and collecting on the Contract Manufacturing Customer Receivables.   Ensure that payments are received before production run.
  • Administering the Cell Phone Expense, Reporting and Roll-out Policy
  • Supporting in Roll-out and tracking of Various IT Initiatives.
  • Assist Senior Manager, Finance as Needed
  • Minimum of a Business or Commerce degree or 1-year general accounting experience with a Diploma in Business Administration
  • Strong analytical and computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable & Collections considered an asset
  • Experience with Inventory Control considered a strong asset
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Highly driven and positive team player
  • Demonstrated familiarity in working with WMS/ERP programs; experience with SAP and Great Plains considered an asset.
