We are currently searching for an experienced and talented Regulatory & Technical Quality Specialist to join the Canadian Quality Team. Reporting to the Regulatory & Technical Quality Supervisor, this role provides support for all activities and products with Nature’s Way Canada (NWC) ensuring all products are consistently held to our superior/world class standards while communicating and interacting effectively with other departments (Quality, Research and Development, Marketing, etc.) to obtain necessary information for product registrations.
Regulatory Affairs
  • Provide regulatory guidance to the company on compliance with Canadian regulatory requirements including but not limited to the Natural and Non-Prescription Drug Regulations, the Food and Drug Ac, the Food and Drug Regulations, the Safe Food for Canadians Act and associated guidance documents issued by Health Canada
  • Provide regulatory guidance to the company on appropriate standards and regulations as they pertain to consumer packaged goods and their advertising including the Competition Act and associated guidance
  • Provide guidance to company on product development and competitive insights based on review of the regulatory and competitive landscape
  • Review proposed new product formulations for conformity to Canadian regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate and interact effectively with other departments (Quality, Research and Development, Marketing, etc) to obtain necessary information for product registrations
  • Prepare and submit product license applications for Natural Health Products in Canada.
  • Knowledge of the technical aspects of a formula, batch record, and label so that the information can be accurately portrayed in regulatory filings
  • Create and maintain documentation necessary to support regulatory filings
  • Perform regulatory review of raw materials and vendors for use in manufacture of NWC products.
  • Collect, document, and report on adverse reactions
Technical Quality
  • Perform quality review of raw materials used for NWC products. 
  • Create and maintain finished product specifications for natural health product and foods that are produced for Nature’s Way of Canada.
  • Perform Out of Spec (OOS) investigations
  • Prepare stability study protocols as necessary and/or review stability data from contract manufacturers
  • Select and approve test methods and contract labs used for NWC products
  • Investigate, document and trend customer complaints and identify appropriate corrective action.
  • Post-secondary education is required; with a focus in science and/or legal studies considered an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years’ regulatory or quality experience is required
  • Experience working with Natural Health Products, pharmacies, food or medical devices considered a strong asset
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required
  • This position requires someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented and a strong problem solver
